James F Masker, 87, of Bloomfield, NJ passed away on June 7, 2024.
James was born on December 17, 1936, in Jersey City, NJ. After the passing of his mother, Margeret Masker, he was raised in Kearny, NJ by his aunt Lilian Murphy and his uncle George Murphy, where he attended both primary and high school at St. Cecelia.
James served proudly in the N.J. Air National Guard and was called to active duty from October 1960 to August 1961 in Europe during the Berlin Wall crisis.
James worked for Brooks Brothers in Manhattan until; after completing his education at Seaton Hall University(BA, MA), he found his true calling as a teacher. James taught at St. Michael Regional High School in Union City (1970-1981) and Hudson Catholic Regional High School (1981-2002).
James was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter's in Belleville, NJ since 1966 involved with RCIA, Parish Council, Pre Cana, and Eucharistic Ministry for many years.
James was also a proud member of the West Orange branch of The Friendly Sons of the Shillelaghs.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen M Masker (nee Maser), children Kathleen Hennessey and James Jr. and his grandchildren Brendan, Aedan, Ceara, Conor, Caitlin and Amy
