Francisco Morales Cartagena was born on December 16, 1921 in Aibonito Puerto Rico. He was the only
child of Petranilla Suarez and Diego Morales. Though he did not have siblings, he found an extended
family when he married his pre-deceased wife Ana Colon Aponte who had nine siblings. Together, they
built a family of their own starting with Ada Irma Hernandez, Wilfredo Morales (pre-deceased), Milka
Delia Vargas, Evelyn Nazario, and Nancy Morales.
Affectionately known as Papa by his five grandchildren Renee Nazario Flores, Gerard Francisco Rivera,
Tamika Rivera, Eric Orlando Nazario and Janelle Marissa Torres. Francisco also had nine great
grandchildren- Calista Daisy Flores, Jayden Alano Flores, Zavian Christian Rivera, Isaiah Nazario, Aaron
Nazario, Landon River Flores, Ana Micaela Pinto Rivera, Benjamin Nazario and Adrian Francisco Nazario -
who loved and adored him.
In the late 1960s, Francisco was the proprietor of the Aibonito Social Club on Montgomery Street in
Jersey City, NJ. He loved playing his guitar for his wife and children. Many Christmas was spent at
Francisco and Ana’s home where they proudly entertained family and friends from near and far.
Francisco passed peacefully at home in Sun City Center Florida with his daughters at his side and his
beloved dog Toby. He will be held in our hearts for eternity until we meet again.
Rest in peace Papa.
