Flora (Toscano) Ferraro

Flora Ferraro, (nee: Toscano) of Bloomfield passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving sons.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26^th, from 3 to 8PM at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave. Nutley, NJ   A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 27^th, at 11:30AM, St. Anthony of Padua Church, 63 Franklin St. Belleville, NJ. Family and friends are welcome to Holy Family Church on Wednesday morning at 9AM prior to Mass. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Funeral Services entrusted to Branch Brook Memorial Home of Belleville, NJ.

Flora was born in Acri (CS) Italy to Guiseppe and Maria Carmela (Guglielmello) Toscano and married Anthony in 1952, settling in Belleville in 1953 before moving to Bloomfield 59 years ago.  She was a trained dress designer/pattern maker and embroiderer and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

 Flora enjoyed cooking, baking, jarring tomatoes and gardening.  She loved traveling on Cruises and spending time with her family.  She was a volunteer at Clara Maass Medical center where she administered Holy Communion to the sick for 18 years. A devoted parishioner and daily communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Belleville for 64 years, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society,   and the  St. Anthony Choir. She also was a volunteer for NJ Right to Life.

She is the beloved wife of the late Anthony M. Ferraro Sr., Loving Mother of: Rev. Joseph A. Ferraro, K.S.H., Pastor of Holy Family Church, Nutley, Anthony M. Ferraro Jr and his Wife Maureen, of Lake Elisonare, California, Angelo M. Ferraro, of Cape Cod, MA, Allan R. Ferraro Sr. and his wife Carol of Attleboro, MA, proud and cherished grandmother of Jessica (Arron) Lawson, Michael, AJ, Thomas, and David Ferraro.  She is also survived by her brothers, Remigio (Sandra) Toscano in Italy and Raymond Toscano of Bridgewater, Sisters-in-law Elena Toscano, and Rose Tamburello and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Pre deceased by her siblings Ugo Toscano, Ida (Elvira)(Vincenzo) Godino, Olga (Assunta) (Pasquale)Toscano , Angelo Toscano.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer gifts in her memory to St. Anthony Church Beautification Fund or Holy Family Church Building Fund.
