Felicita Muniz, 72 of Newark, entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2020 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Born in Villalba, Puerto Rico on June 7, 1948 to the late Domingo Lopez & Francisca Torres, she lived most of her life in Newark. She attained two B.A.'s in Education & Spanish Literature and was an accomplished writer. She wrote several poems in Spanish and even had two books of poems published: Sendas de Recuerdos & Sendas y Recuerdos. She was a retired Teacher of the Newark Public School System. She loved to travel to Puerto Rico and was an excellent cook, especially any traditional Puerto Rican specialties. She enjoyed gardening growing fruits, vegetables and flowers. Most importantly, she loved to spend time with her grand children.
She is the cherished wife of Juan Muniz, loving mother of Itsa Guerrero, proud grandmother of Heavenly & Kelsi Guerrero. She is also sister of Denis Lopez (Puerto Rico), Luis Lopez, Maximo Lopez, Rosa Lopez, Ida Lopez and the late Domingo & Ruben Lopez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Branch Brook Memorial Home, 101 Union Ave., Belleville, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Church, 172 Broadway, Newark, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
