Obituary

Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos earned her wings to become an angel in Heaven on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos’ mother Carmen Luz (Quniones) Vega gave birth to a ray of sunshine on June 30, 1961 in City Hospital located in Newark, NJ. Carmen was preceded in death by her father, Cruz Vega Sr. who passed away on February 6, 2008.  

Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos married John Ramos in October 2012. Carmen is survived by her husband, John with his 4 Sons and 8 Grandchildren and Carmen opened her life to a brand new family who she loved unconditionally as well. The Ramos family also welcomed Carmen into their lives with respect and love.

Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos is survived by her two beautiful children who she loves unconditionally every day of their life, Edwin Perez Jr. and Tatiana Marisa Romero her grandchildren Daniel, Dezeree, Nevaeh, and Athena.  Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos is survived by her mother, Carmen Luz Vega, and siblings, Cruz Vega Jr., Jeanette Vega, Richard Vega, and Eileen Vega, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her best friends who became extended sisters throughout Carmen’s life, Lisa Montanez, Blanca Valentine and Elisa Torres with their children and family members.

Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos worked for the North Ward Center, Inc. and worked under Fran Adubato assisting Seniors in the Greater Newark and Essex County areas. Carmen thereafter became employed for the City of Newark, NJ with Honorable Council President Mildred Crump as one of her loyal aides. Carmen was also an entrepreneur and owned her business Tati’s Unique Boutique and worked for Early Intervention assisting and mentoring children with special needs and their families. Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos was a Board Member of the Puerto Rican Parade of Newark, NJ, the Director of Special Events and the TRIKE Masters Club of Newark.

Overall, Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos’ purpose was to walk into a room with her beautiful smile which made people around her feel better about themselves and about their day.  Just the simple act of putting a smile on everyone’s face made her mother, children, brothers, sisters, family members, friends, loved ones, coworkers, clients and people in her life feel actual happiness and joy. Carmen made a huge impact within her family and in her career servicing clients, senior citizens, children, and families. Carmen touched everyone’s life during her 59 years on this earth. Carmen is no longer in pain or suffering and God has a very special angel with Him in Heaven. Carmen is loved by so many and will remain in our hearts. Our love for Carmen will remain within us forever. Rest in Peace Carmen Anna Vega-Ramos. Until we meet again.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Branch Brook Memorial Home, 101 Union Ave, Belleville, NJ.  (Ample parking available at the Funeral Home). 

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, January 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba's Church, 25 Thomas St., Newark, NJ. 

Cremation will be held privately.
